RSRBR Fanaleds crash- no Startup D3D9.DLL [Solved]

Hey guys,

Very weird.. Never had any issues with Fanaleds and RSRBR/RBR, but now as of today RBR or RSRBR would not start anymore with the d3d9.dll placed in the folder. Re-installed it again nothing.. Re-installed it again in a different folder and then I found out after placing the d3d9.dll it would not start..
Did try to install Sniper Elite again before that ( which previously worked as well) and that installed a new Directx I think..
Not sure how this is possible?

That's interesting... Is the new DirectX version the only thing you changed?

Perhaps you could manually remove DirectX and reinstall it. Let's see if Dirk has an idea.

Already checked that, but Microsoft is not giving a good enough explanation or solution for that..

For me it's really important to have RSRBR fully functional and above all stable..

Have (again) started to re-install W7 and RSRBR.. Will let you know what happens, but again never had an issue before so would be surprised if this is going to be an issue now..

Any news on this with the reinstall?

We have it planned to support RBR in another way, but we're quiet busy atm with other work (real work) :)

Yep, got it, drank it and found the T-shirt.. ( ofzoiets.. :-) )

It's the MSI Afterburner in combination with the d3d9.dll

If I close either MSI afterburner OR remove the d3d9.dll it works fine.. If not, I can see RSRBR loading (mousechange to the round thingy) and then nothing.

Not sure why this did not happen in the past to be honest as I thought I had both installed in the past.. But I found out when I just installed MSI and it didn't work anymore..

Sounds really strange indeed, but I'm glad you found the culprit. Perhaps this can be avoided in the future.
